Hello.
You have stumbled upon the blog of Class 1E2,
OF Jurong West Secondary School.
We love everyone and each other!
We became one on January 3rd 2008.
United we stand, divided we fall
Years may fly, tears may dry, but our friendship will never die
Don't hate us just because we rock. (:

Managing stress

Examinations and assignments can be uncomfortable experiences for many students and it can be difficult to do yourself justice. Knowing how to cope with the demands of exams and assignments can vastly improve the experience for you.

Don’t compare yourself with other students. This is your exam, so concentrate on your needs and what makes you most comfortable.

Focus on the one topic you’re revising now, not on what else you still have to cover. If you get stuck on a topic, leave it and come back when you’re fresh. Ask for help from students or your tutor or study adviser if you need it.

Have a clear idea of how you are going to spend the time immediately before the exam, and include activities that help you to keep things in perspective. It may be worth thinking about something you achieved that meant a lot to you. It will help you acknowledge that the exam is not the only important thing – and is well within your capabilities.

"I realised that talking to other students before the exam wound me up, so now I just listen to music while waiting for the exam hall to open. "

If stress affects you, try to find ways to maintain a positive attitude and cultivate a positive approach during your revision. You could

-keep fit by taking some exercise you enjoy
-relax, perhaps by sitting quietly or meditating
-eat well, but healthily
-get sufficient sleep
-take some planned time away from study, rather than feel you’re avoiding revision
-be pleased with your achievements as you revise
-reward yourself with an occasional treat.

"If I begin to panic during the exam, I say to myself STOP and then sit back and take several deep breaths to try to relax a little. Even though I can feel like leaving the exam I know the panic will go after a few minutes so I sit it out. I know the invigilator will help me if I get really stressed. If I can’t cope with one question I move on to another one so that I’m writing something."

Own ways of managing stress.

As most of the children love to do is the play computer. It maybe one way to manage your stress. But playing too long will make you addicted to it, so you must have a time management on when to play and when to stop for studying.

You can listen to music for relaxation or maybe go out with you friends to study as the more the merrier and some may even help you with the subjects that you are not sure of.

You may do some sports for a few minutes to relax yourself and make yourself be prepare for studying.

If you are afraid that you will forget the things that you are suppose to read, write the thing on the piece of paper and keep reading thoroughly before the exam.(Remember not to bring it in the exam as it is cheating.)

You may look for your families, friends or teachers if you are still afraid about the test or exam. They will sure help you to overcome it.
